Most schools, colleges, and universities in the United States utilize a grading system based on the letters listed above, though E is occasionally used instead of F. Grading systems varies, however, in terms of what defines an A or B, and some do not include grades like an A+ or a B-. Others may give more weight to certain courses, and so the grade earned in the course will have a greater impact on the overall GPA.
